Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Sales related field and at least 3 – 5 years of related builder experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven track record in analyzing and interpreting data from various sources and apply to business needs as well as understand builder behavior
  • Proven track record as a highly collaborative, passionate about forming relationships and a strategic problem solver, along with being analytical, have a good knowledge of systems and be process driven
  • Proven consistent record in having the ability to apply resources to get results against business objectives
  • Proven effective communicator at all levels of the organization as well as with customers
  • Proven record in multi-tasking in a fast-paced, changing environment and prioritize multiple, often contending priorities
  • Consistent track record of evaluating decisions based on the impact to the customer and displaying a willingness and ability to provide premier world-class customer service

Responsibilities

  • The Builder Sales Manager will grow business by expanding relationships with strategically important builder accounts
  • Responsible for assigned strategic account objectives that are measurable and should support targeted account sales growth
  • Work closely with the regional sales managers, business development specialists, Trade Channel agencies and cross functional teams to achieve goals
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing positive relationships with prospective builders and grow profitable sales
  • Represents the entire range of Kichler products and services to assigned builder customers, primarily within the top national 50 builders
  • Maintain existing builder agreements and proactively renew builder agreements meeting the RFP requirements, offer product suggestions, and program simplification
  • Responsible for the customer account planning cycle and ensure business growth and achieving of sales goals with the customers
  • Player/coach – will need to rely on agencies to address local divisions (model homes, service, etc) but also will need to manage the corporate relationship
  • Understand builder contracts, model home needs, manage discontinued item transitions
  • Responsible for driving profitable sales through product mix and program management with new and existing builders
  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical achievements for a one and three-year period, with a specific focus on Builder accounts
  • General understanding of builder quotes needs
  • Drive key Builder capability building required to support growth working closely with various functional areas within marketing and outside like sales, marketing and finance
  • Develop outstanding reporting and analysis of the business, working together to develop insights that builds sales and business development
  • Forecasting – coordinate with existing business to forecast needs and communicate regularly with Operations
  • Travel required in the United States with up to 40% travel
