Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

In this role as a Principal Software Engineer Lead, you will lead the development of transformative technologies in our team
Feed & Verticals specializes in building personalized and engaging content around news, shopping, sports, weather, and finance that can scale to 1B+ Microsoft users on desktop and mobile
Partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios
Leads architectural discussions, mentors testing strategies, and drives design documentation, ensuring quality and identifying dependencies for product development
Leads and mentors in producing high-quality, scalable code, utilizing proactive and reactive debugging techniques, while ensuring adherence to Microsoft's quality standards in code reviews
Utilizes subject-matter expertise to collaborate with stakeholders, guides project plans, conducts experiments, interprets results, and establishes implementation frameworks adhering to industry standards
Implements solutions to complex issues, mentors engineers, and leads efforts to collect and analyze system metrics
Leads comprehensive initiatives in software development, automation, security, and partnerships, ensuring adherence to best practices and fostering communication within the Microsoft ecosystem for reliable and innovative code creation

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year
