Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations
  • A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience
  • Familiar with trailer and suspension systems
  • Familiar with structural components (forgings, castings, weldments)
  • Experience with layout including dimensional stack-up calculations for component assemblies
  • Good understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
  • Well versed with all MS Windows software
  • This role is Hybrid Remote: 3 days in office, M-F 7 AM - 4 PM (Flexible)

Responsibilities

  • Create solid modeling, layout and drawings necessary for product design of axle/suspension components and systems
  • This will include the use of CAE tools; Creo and Simulate
  • Check major design and drawings prepared by other drafting personnel with respect to accuracy, technical adequacy, and conformance with accepted procedures
  • Interface with all aspects of engineering to meet customer requirements with focus on project timing and product design
  • Work with other designers and engineers to release detailed drawing packages
  • Establish good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, customers and various internal groups
