The Manager of Engineering Strategy & Operations facilitates engineering functional strategy development and provides leadership of day-to-day operations for the Microelectronics Design and Application (MDA) Engineering and Sciences organization
In this role the manager ensures the coordination and seamless integration of activities across individual teams within the two sister organizations, (HW/Sciences and SW/SEIT)
The Manager also provides support to executive leadership to enable strategic execution, including continuous planning; goal and metrics tracking; organizational and program risk identification and mitigation; and the development, dissemination, and deployment of tasks associated with engineering initiatives
This position offers a challenging balance between development/ implementation of long-range strategy and assurance of efficient, timely execution of tactical operations
Facilitate and maintain an engineering strategy as the primary area of focus:
Participate in long-range strategic planning process for E&S orgs, including engagement, seating, and other facilities needs
Translate business needs into short / long-term engineering functional strategies (people, process, tools, products and services)
Establish and implement a business rhythm to align resources to the organization’s objectives
Ensure commonality and the sharing of best practices for operations functions within each engineering organization
Lead the proactive creation and integration of work products necessary to support reporting requirements
Develop and maintain operational calendar for leadership team; ensure clear communication of dates and deliverables to other task owners
Partner with engineering and division operations managers in an operational cadence to include cyclic reporting and analysis of program and portfolio goals to achieve contractual and organizational objectives
Lead and manage the process for E&S funded projects including NCTA, ITA, and capital initiatives
Track, document, and report status of training, conference attendance, Independent Reviews, proposals, and CEACs across the organization
Coordinate engineering status reporting tailored to customer audience
Manage and maintain data repositories (e.g; SharePoint, Website content)
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate staff meetings, leadership off-sites and site visits, organizational reviews, and other leadership team activities
Collect, track, and analyze data; develop appropriate reports/presentation materials in support of Engineering level mtgs and leadership team decision-making actions
Publish meeting minutes with actions; coordinate with teams to drive actions to closure in alignment with organizational priorities
Lead the operations team in the execution of all of the above responsibilities
Serve as a delegate for the leader in designated reviews as required
Perform special assignments and lead special initiatives as required
Solid-line report to the Director of Engineering
Benefits
Salary Range: $172,500 - $271,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives
