Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar field) OR 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Database Developer
  • Proficiency in Snowflake
  • Strong expertise in SQL and experience with SQL database design and development
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing solutions
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Scala
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • You'll REALLY stand out to us if you:
  • Understand Ruby on Rails framework
  • Have experience in the staffing industry or with SaaS products
  • Have experience with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Are familiar with machine learning and data science concepts

Responsibilities

  • Snowflake Management: Administer, optimize, and scale our Snowflake data warehouse
  • This includes managing data storage, computing resources, and performance tuning
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and availability for analysis and decision-making
  • Database Management: Manage and optimize databases for performance and efficiency
  • This includes relational databases as well as NoSQL systems
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop tools and systems for analyzing data, generating insights, and producing reports to support business decisions
  • Collaboration with Engineering Team: Work closely with the Ruby on Rails development team to ensure seamless integration of the data layer with the application logic
  • Data Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard data, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations relevant to the staffing industry
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of data systems, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for scalability and optimization
