Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar field) OR 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Database Developer
- Proficiency in Snowflake
- Strong expertise in SQL and experience with SQL database design and development
- Experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing solutions
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
- Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Scala
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- You'll REALLY stand out to us if you:
- Understand Ruby on Rails framework
- Have experience in the staffing industry or with SaaS products
- Have experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Are familiar with machine learning and data science concepts
Responsibilities
- Snowflake Management: Administer, optimize, and scale our Snowflake data warehouse
- This includes managing data storage, computing resources, and performance tuning
- Data Pipeline Development: Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems
- Data Integration: Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and availability for analysis and decision-making
- Database Management: Manage and optimize databases for performance and efficiency
- This includes relational databases as well as NoSQL systems
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop tools and systems for analyzing data, generating insights, and producing reports to support business decisions
- Collaboration with Engineering Team: Work closely with the Ruby on Rails development team to ensure seamless integration of the data layer with the application logic
- Data Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard data, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations relevant to the staffing industry
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of data systems, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for scalability and optimization
