Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of sales experience in the spirits or beer industry
  • Ability to hold a solicitor’s permit required
  • Understanding of key markets and seasonality in the region
  • Strong relationships with top accounts in both on and off premise channels
  • Willing to work industry hours when needed (nights and weekends)
  • Previous experience working with distributor teams
  • Excellent communication skills

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pitch and acquire new points of distribution in both the on and off premise
  • Build relationships with top accounts in both on and off premise
  • Maintain regular appointments, follow up, and activations with top customers
  • Maintain a Customer Relationship Management platform, VIP Karma, to log progress against KPIs
  • Build a relationship with distributor sales reps to keep brands top of mind
  • Support distributor incentives and programs that have been implemented by the sales management team
  • Plan and execute solo market blitzes as well as formal distributor work-withs
  • Plan and execute tastings and promotions in both on and off premise channels
  • Coordinate with tasting agencies, buyers and distributor reps to execute off-premise and on-premise tasting opportunities
  • Work with the marketing team to develop marketing plans for assigned territories and ensure they run in conjunction with the sales strategy
  • Identify community sampling event opportunities in assigned territories and work directly with the marketing team to identify execution needs for these events
  • Relay in-market activity of competitive brands that would affect company interests
  • Maintain, track, and keep within expense account allowance in accordance with monthly budgets and programs
  • This position is responsible for working with distributor sales reps in targeted regions
  • This role does require the candidate to be out in the field on a daily/weekly basis to engage with accounts and drive sales and brand awareness
