Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must be located within the geography stated above
  • BA/BS degree in agriculture or business-related field (or equivalent)
  • 7 – 10 years agricultural or sales experience of which 3 years should include sales management responsibility
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders and ability to understand complex system integrations
  • Superior analytical skills, exceptional computer as well as oral & written communication skills
  • Strong time management and multitasking capabilities to execute a range of implementation efforts
  • Knowledge of selling skills, coaching and counseling methods
  • Strong networking skills to effectively leverage internal and external resources to provide timely solutions
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to address business needs
  • VISA sponsorship and international relocation are NOT available for this position

Responsibilities

  • The RSM is fully responsible for the planning, execution and management of a sales region
  • Provides technical leadership by applying a wide variety of sales techniques and principles to Regional Sales force and independent Sales Rep network
  • Works on problems of broad scope
  • Has demonstrated successes in District and/or Regional sales growth volume
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation of sales region aimed at developing a professional regional sales team and overall growing a sales force and distribution channel
  • Acts independently, establishes own workload and priorities and provides guidance to Region in establishing their priorities
  • Communicates frequently with others to foster a team approach to the market
  • Develop and monitor regional budgets, control expenses and provide accurate and timely sales forecasts
  • Recruit District Sales Managers and Independent Representatives, develop and conduct sales training programs and sales meetings and coach District Managers to ensure product knowledge, professional sales technique and increased sales volume
  • Provide input during sales and crop planning sessions and actively participate in the development of sale plans and crop plans
  • Professionally support in customer meetings, prospect meetings and field days
  • Gain needed support and materials from marketing and other functions within the company
  • Professionally coach and counsel District Managers, conduct annual performance evaluations, develop annual goals and complete periodic progress reviews
  • Keep abreast of market trends, competitive products, programs and pricing structures
  • Provide ongoing feedback to marketing and sales staffs
  • Effectively and proactively manage customer services calls and/or complaints
  • Communicate regularly with District Managers and customers keeping them abreast of new products, product advancements, promotions, feedback from other customers, etc
  • Manage resources effectively that are related to providing sales growth
  • Manage orders to inventory, control returns and generally assist District Sales managers in collecting outstanding accounts
  • Actively promote marketing programs, provide feedback to marketing on customer response
  • Coordinate participation in Farms Shows and special events
  • Coach and evaluate DSM's use of selling, recruiting and marketing programs
  • Maintain company vehicle and records properly
