Job Description Summary

Supports the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting.Maintaining records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use.Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.Supporting and assisting junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Job Description

Analyzing current and past financial data and performance, walkdowns, income statements, productivity plans, etc.
Preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
Identifying trends in financial performance and forecast accuracy while also providing recommendations for improvement
Developing and providing financial models and forecasting
Support month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules, account reconciliations and month end reporting.
Prepare and update the AAM Plant month-end closing calendar.
Perform day to day financial activities such as researching general ledger activity, and analyzing actual, budget and forecast information.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or similar
Self-starter with an attention to detail and an ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
Advanced PC proficiency, including at least intermediate skills in word processing and spreadsheet analysis.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
