ThePrincipal Plant Transfer Project Leaderrole will utilize a wide variety of skills and processes to organize, coordinate and lead multiple projects between manufacturing locations. This role will be the critical contact for multi-site transfers and start-up operations. This will require excellent communication skills, decisive problem-solving skills as well as an excellent mentor and coach for team members. In this role you will have the opportunity to travel to different locations to work and partner with a diverse group of people. This role is ideal for those who are comfortable with heavy travel (75%+). Candidates ideally will be based in the Twin Cities metro, but we are also open to remote candidates who are comfortable with the 75% travel schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

Serve as a cross-functional project leader with sales, engineering, quality, purchasing, and operations by holding teams accountable for their commitments, resolving issues and leveraging organizational resources.
Organize and lead internal activities including working meetings, program performance reporting, major milestones and action item tracking, program risk assessment, etc.

Responsibilities include the successful coordination and execution of all product, line, equipment and personnel transfers from one plant to another
Lead the successful startup of the operations at the receiving site
Lead the handoff of new operations to the site leader

Collaborate with, support, and influence in a global environment - impacting programs that span multiple regions.
Manage dependencies within and across programs.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate projects to ensure smooth transition of programs from concept to production using effective project management methods.
Collaborate with team members to proactively assess potential risks to project objectives and timeline.
Ensure all key activities and milestones are met for product development programs; allowing reliable, validated designs to be developed.
Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to project sponsors, end users and management.
Promptly bring to attention any significant deviations to plan that are beyond his/her control and recommend corrective action.
Develop relationships and collaborate with other business units and PM team on process improvement and process maturity.

TRAVEL:Up to 75%

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or related field.
5+ years of relevant work experience in project management or leading cross-functional teams.
3+ years of experience working in Operations or Plant environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal competencies: initiative, collaboration, global cross-functional team leadership, influence without authority, process-oriented, results-driven and organizational awareness.
Strong attention to detail and analytical aptitude required.
Presentation skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
PMP, or other program management certifications
MS Project skills and experience
Greenfield operations experience a plus
Product transfer between sites experience a plus
Technical experience a plus (equipment set up & tear down)
Aerospace & Defense experience a plus
Experience working in or partnering with an Operations or Supply Chain team
Experience or exposure to ISO9100 standard
