Today, Ledger is an online marketplace connecting insurance risk to capital, focusing on securitization. Insurance risk originators are able to source capital more efficiently vs. the traditional value-chain. Capital providers gain access to an asset class that is highly diversified vs. most asset classes. Insurance securitization has quickly grown to be a $100 billion market but is limited in scope due to opacity and complexity. Design at Ledger

Sophisticated and elegant user experiences in the insurtech industry are rare. At Ledger, you not only have the opportunity to innovate on existing fintech patterns, but also introduce new paradigms to the space.

We're looking for a technically adept and collaborative designer with innate product sense, impeccable craft, and great taste to help us take our products to the next level. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders to define long-term and short-term tactics and bring new features to life from problem discovery to deployment.

As a Product Designer Lead at Ledger, you'll have a large amount of agency and ownership over all facets of Ledger's design output. Beyond product work, you'll also help with extending our design system and brand.

In this role, you will...

Lead design initiatives on new 0-1 and existing end-to-end user experiences and partner with product managers, engineers, and other designers to deliver impactful features.
Design and refine user interfaces that captivate and simplify complex concepts and data for our customers.
Utilize user research and data insights to inform design decisions, ensuring products are both visually appealing and highly functional.
Validate and iterate on solutions through wireframes or interactive prototypes, and bring products from ideation to production. Iterate designs based on user testing and feedback, aiming for continuous improvement.
Be a user advocate within the organization, championing user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Contribute to and maintain a flexible design system, ensuring consistency across all product interfaces and experiences.

You'll be a great fit if...

You have 4+ years of work experience as a product designer at a tech company. Startup experience is a plus.
You are a great communicator. Given that Ledger employees are all home-office based, many of our interactions occur asynchronously. We're looking for someone who possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and can articulate product design processes and decisions to the broader team.
You are excited about tackling hard problems with many tradeoffs. We're looking to build thoughtful, intentional and user-focused experiences that balance complexity with clarity. To succeed, we need someone excited to dig deep and arrive at the right solutions through constant iteration and tight feedback loops.
