Shambaugh & Son L.P., a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., is a customer-driven, single-source, self-performing construction/engineering firm. We specialize in the Design-Build method of construction resulting in fast-track delivery of the project improvements to our customers. Although we are one of the largest specialty contractors in the U.S. and the only one with all eight M.E.P (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Automation, Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) design and installation capabilities in-house, we also construct entire food manufacturing facilities as the prime Design-Builder, or General Contractor. We perform more than $1 Billion of construction projects per year with over 3,000 employees throughout 50 states from our home office in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Job Summary

This position will acquire new talent for our construction and engineering business ensuring individuals fit both skills and culture required for the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review and analyze resumes using our software program
Scour job search websites and social media for potential recruits and contact those candidates personally
Diligently use the phone to reach out to potential candidates to build network of current or future candidates.
Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
Interview potential employees using industry-standard techniques
Assist with designing and implementing the overall recruitment strategy
Work with Employee Development Director to ensure job descriptions are current
Prepare recruitment material and post jobs to appropriate job boards and internally via email
Meet with Division VPs monthly or as needed
Travel to branch offices/job sites as directed by Director
Meet with Director bi-monthly
Monitor and apply recruiting best practices
Attend job fairs that help to achieve recruitment strategy
Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
Promote the company culture and mission
Provide weekly overview of recruitment efforts to Director
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
3+ years’ recruiting experience
Proven success at building a candidate network and filling hard to fill positions
Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews
Hands on experience with various selection processes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrable experience in recruiting
Effective negotiating skills
Extensive knowledge of applicant tracking software programs
Familiarity with online job-hunting websites
Ability to travel when necessary (less than 25%)
Knowledge in Lotus Notes and Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred
