Description/Job Summary

LOCATION:

This position may be located in Lubbock, or other locations can be considered based on candidate.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Eight (8) to ten (10) years of Crop Insurance or related agricultural experience, along with experience in leadership training, development with performance and skills requisite for leadership development.
State insurance license required.

FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the SVP Director of Insurance Services, develops budgets for respective teams and its employees, delegates authority as appropriate to carry out goals and objectives. Assists in the hiring, mentoring, and training for teams as required.
Leads public and member relations activities for the Insurance Services Group, cultivating a positive image for the Association.
Under the direction of the SVP Director of Insurance Services, leads the designated agent teams in generating new insurance business, servicing existing policies and growing the book of business.
Under the direction of the SVP Director of Insurance Services, works with the Insurance Customer Service Manager, Strategic Insurance Manager, or others to develop, and implement efficient processes to generate and service insurance policies.
Maintains awareness of agricultural trends, business, and insurance activity, along with RMA, FCIC regulations, and legal obligations. Ensures agent team complies with applicable policies, regulations, and laws. Prepares reports required by association management.
Assists staff and management with collections on all past due premium.
Assists staff and management with resolving troubled loss claim issues.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Generalized knowledge of accounting/finance principles.
Specialized knowledge in Crop Insurance policies, underwriting and loss adjustment procedures.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
