The Vice President - Sales for the U.S. is responsible for the development of the vision and implementation of the annual sales plan to increase market share through new and existing customers and distribution. This individual is a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience and able to provide ultimate oversight and guidance to the sales team. This position is accountable for delivering measurable results that achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets, contributes meaningful insight to the sales and marketing functions, and plays an integral role in the overall development of the organization. Sales channels could include direct sales to the contractor; sales to contractor through distributor; internet/ ecommerce sales; and inside sales program whereby dedicated inside sales personnel call on customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures for developing business and achieving the Company's sales and profitability goals.
Develops and maintains key metrics that enable effective assessment of activity and results regionally and nationally.
Analyze sales, cost & margin data throughout the U.S. to determine trends, future focus, potential issues, and results versus budget and communicate to senior leadership.
Provides the sales team with daily leadership and direction in a "hands-on" manner consistent with the culture, philosophy and goals of the Company.
Support the National Accounts focus and assist with generating more volume with these accounts and/or resolving any issues that may arise.
Defines and coordinates sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support Company sales objectives.
Develops and manages sales budgets for the U.S..
Oversees the incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.
Implements systems & new programs to support the success of the sales function.
Monitors customer, market and competitor activity and provides feedback to Company leadership team and other Company functions.
Contributes actively to Portfolio Management, Product Development, and Business Development functions with strategies and plans that identify market opportunities and new products and services.
Promotes positive relations with vendors and distributors.
Coordinates national and regional sales meeting. Manages sales force participation in trade shows.
Works with operations team and corporate staff to develop strategic plans and maximize revenue growth and profitability .

REQUIREMENTS:

15 years sales experience with 10 years in a senior sales management role.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in a business related discipline, MBA preferred.
Verifiable record and recommendations which reflect your ability to quickly master a new industry and deliver a positive impact on revenue.
Proven strength in hiring and mentoring high quality sales professionals with ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within stated timeframes.
Leadership role with experience at the executive level with full budgetary and/or P&L decision making authority.
Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of negotiating and change management.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing and executing plans, leading discussions and meetings internally and with customers, generating reports and disseminating information.
Familiarity with Salesforce strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of business database software, pivot tables, and microstrategy. JD Edwards a plus.
Ability to review sales data and analytically interpret this information in formulating strategy and future goals.
